Stuart, a fun loving busy guy always had something to say and always had something to do. Stuart had many friends through work and in his social life, he was easy to get along with and spoke to everyone. Stuart was training to be a mechanic and he was making a great job of it, we never knew what time he was coming home because if he was not at work, he was checking out his own cars or under the bonnet of some of his friends cars. He got his first car on his sixteenth birthday then bought and sold 10 cars 8 of which were roadworthy, he always managed to make money on them, his cars were always clean and he took great pride in them all. Stuart’s latest car, a Peugeot rallye was the best one yet, he travelled all day on Saturday 24th May with his dad to get it and was fair chuffed to be the proud new owner. On the way home with the car Stuart stopped and stayed over night with Asia (his girlfriend) in Edinburgh and took her for a spin then the following day he took it up the quarter mile at Crail he did very well for his first go. Sadly Stuart had no opportunity to enjoy his cool car as he was passenger in a very bad car accident on the following Friday 30th May and fell asleep on the 31st May 2008. We all miss Stuart tremendously. .
How many of you reading this knew Stuart, or another loved one involved in a road accident? There have been too many youngsters lost on our roads and although we cannot stop this from happening, we can try to educate road users of all ages. Have a look at some of the courses you can take on our website and book a place
When Stuart would text Asia they would refer to his new car as the Rrrrallye so it seemed right that we should name our event Rrrrallye. Our 4th Rrrrallye will be held at Keith Grammar School in Keith, Moray on Sunday the 17th of June 2011 just after Stuart’s birthday. We are currently organising this event in the hope of Promoting Road Awareness for Youths.
There will be quite a few youths involved in organising this event through different award schemes such as the Youth Achievement Awards, Duke of Edinburgh Awards, Millenium Awards and also Dynamic Youth Awards, feel free to join us.
Attending on the day will be the Skid Car, members of the Emergency Services to help promote safety on the roads and some driving instructors on hand to provide information about driving schemes available for all ages of driver to educate us on safer driving on the roads. Local groups will be organising stalls full of fun games to take part in (there will be an update on these as they are booked in) keep an eye on the Stalls pages. There is also going to be entertainment in the hall ranging from dancing to singing and some talented young musicians for us all to stomp to while we have our tea and burgers or home made biscuits. Hope you can join us on the day and help us to make this a worthy and special day.
Thanks, Linda x
